Envetec Partners with Siemens to Deliver Real-Time Data with GENERATIONS Connect
Envetec Sustainable Technologies have utilised the Siemens Insights Hub to enhance the capabilities of the Envetec GENERATIONS system, delivering real-time data through the new GENERATIONS Connect software. This collaboration enables the capture of live data on waste being treated by the GENERATIONS technology and monitors the system for key operational data.
Highlighting this partnership, Rocio Thompson of Siemens has written a piece on the collaboration and sat down with Envetec’s Head of Software Automation, Trevor Dagg, to discuss the software in more detail.
“In healthcare and life sciences, single use plastics are unavoidable, but the landfill outcome doesn’t have to be. That’s the mission behind Envetec, a clean tech company building a circular economy for medical & lab plastics by transforming biohazardous waste into reusable material and pairing that transformation with real, customer-ready insights.
At the heart of Envetec’s offering is a system designed to safely and efficiently handle biohazardous waste. It’s a shredding and disinfecting unit that takes material from a biohazard state and, through a non-thermal process, produces a clean, flake-like plastic output. That flake can then be reintroduced into the circular economy, turning what was once a heavy disposal cost and sustainability burden into a recoverable resource with real value.

Envetec’s roadmap goes beyond building a machine that works. The team wanted to move past basic operational reporting and unlock deeper intelligence, combining near-real-time data with other sources to tell a clearer story about performance, waste streams, and sustainability impact.”
