Envetec is an exciting clean technology focussed start-up. Using our innovative, low energy, non-thermal technology we aim to help businesses meet their sustainability goals. We have ambitious growth plans and now require a Financial Controller/Head of Finance and Administration to join the team and help to scale the business for a global market while supporting the finance function at our site in Birdhill, Co. Tipperary. The successful candidate will be joining a team alongside renowned industry leaders in a young, fast growing clean tech company.
The Role
The Financial Controller/Head of Finance and Administration will be responsible for building a finance function and team while implementing systems to support a growing business. The key requirements for the role are:
- Hands on ambitious accountant keen to move to the next level.
- Build finance function and team. Implement systems. Support business commercially as it scales.
- 7 years plus experience – Chartered Accountant or CIMA qualified – with exposure to a broad range of business functions. This is not a role for a narrow specialist.
- ERP system implementation experience.
Current finance function consists of CFO supported by limited internal resources and an external accounting firm who provide payroll, invoice processing, payments, VAT returns, audit support, management accounts etc.
Envetec is now moving to the next phase of growth as it scales its business commercially across Ireland, UK and US markets with a need to implement smart systems, processes and controls to build the business sustainably.
Responsibilities
Key aspects of the role include:
- Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with Irish accounting standards and regulations. Manage annual audit and relationship with external auditor.
- Budgeting & Forecasting: Develop, manage, and maintain financial models to support the budgeting process and provide insightful financial forecasts to assist in decision-making. Support cashflow management.
- Financial Systems: Select and implement first MRP and ERP system.
- Long Range Planning – Develop and maintain model with executive management
- Partner with COO on decision support and product costings.
- Commercial Support – support the business development team to financially assess customer opportunities including pricing and contracting.
- Banking Relationships maintain relationships with existing banker and assess new relationships.
- Employee Benefits – manage with HR Manager pension and life assurance programs.
- Tax Compliance: Ensure compliance with Irish and EU tax laws, VAT returns, and statutory requirements supported by external advisors.
- Financing – work with executive team to develop working capital financing strategies with external partners including banks, leasing partners etc.
- Internal Controls & Risk Management: Implement and maintain robust financial processes, internal controls and policies to safeguard company assets.
- Team Leadership: Build, lead and mentor a small finance team, fostering a culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement.
- Oculer Limited – provide FC function and support to sister company – c. ½ day per week.
- Company Secretarial – annual filings, annual returns etc. supported by external advisor
- Insurance – manage insurance program including renewals supported by external advisor.

- Envetec is a young & growing organisation where priorities can change rapidly in response to business and customer needs. Colleagues are required to show agility and support each other across functions as required. This can include both task and project responsibilities.
Key requirements for the role
Qualifications:
- Education: Chartered Accountant or CIMA qualified
- Experience:
- 7+ years of experience with exposure to a broad range of business functions
- Experience in implementation of ERP system.
